My holidays This year my holiday was different from the last year´s, because in July I had a part-time job. I worked in the department store Baumax. I was working every day except on Thursdays and Fridays for ten hours a day.My clear profit was about eight thousand crowns for a month. The first two weeks in August I was at home and riding a bike and swimming. On 12th August I went to Croatia where I spent eight days by the sea. The last two weeks I was at home again. Martin Majer Summer holiday 1999 July the 1st was the happiest day of this year . My holidays started. How did I spend them?I traveled and traveled and traveled. For the first time I was with my mother, sister and friend of ours in St. Petersburg. It was a very nice trip, because we visited many places of interest. I saw many palaces, churches and castles of Russian nobles where picture and art galleries were located. I saw the Ermitage, too. After our arrival we went together with my sister to Česká Třebová where we had a little rest. At the end of July we flew to the island of Venus´s birth, Cyprus. We lived there in a private villa near Larnaca. From there we organized many trips to famous historical and tourist places. We decided to go by ship to Egypt and Israel. I saw the places I had never dreamt to visit in my life. When I stood in front of the pyramides I felt to be a small human. We came back in Prague during the first half of August, we had a rest at Česká Třebová once again and full of strenght we went to Germany by car. We went trough Castle way and mountain way from Mainz to Heidelberg. How many castles do you think we saw? In fact more than forty. We have nice memories from Germany. Very quickly we woke up the last week. I must say that the holidays are very short. Ludvika Kocurková , L3. I spent the summer holiday abroad and in the Czech Republic. First I went down the Vltava River with a canoe club. Then I went to Austria, Slovenia, Croatia. In Austria and Slovenia I climbed the Alps and in Croatian I was at the seaside. Then I went to the camp for highschool pupils. And at the end of summer holidays I visited the Christians pilgrims place Svatá hora and I was at my grandmother˘s,too. Zuzana Málková My holiday Michaela Martínková. Every holiday I spend in the countryside. There is a lot to do,because my grandfather has a farm,so I helped him with slipping down hay and straw and with picking potatoes.Other days I was swimming, playing football and riding on a bicycle. I am looking forward to the next holiday, which I'll spend in the same way. Michal Matouš My summer holiday Mirek Karbušický Jan Nemec When the school year ended, I went to my best friend Andrew with my "second best friend" Willy. Our task was to build some structures around the pond, which was a very hard work, my hands knew it in these times very well and it also continues up to now. At the end of July my work here ended. I was very happy, but my body said something different. After that I went by bus to Belgium, to Antwerpen, there was an Open tournament. there. I played Star Wars Customizable Card Game here for many times. I was here for one week. It gave me new knowledge. After that I´m much more better at playing this game. In August I was at home all the time. I was playing on computer, sleeping long, browsing on i - net and etc… I think it was a good holiday. © Martin Sach (slahounek@email.cz) 15th September 1999 My summer holiday started a week before the end of the year, because I helped with preparing a "computer games" children camp near Střelské Hoštice. I stayed there for two weeks and it was a really hard work because children ages 3-7 years like doing silly things, like shutting a computer down every time…. After that I went with my mother and younger brother to Prague where our dog Galaxy gave birth to six puppies. I had to look after the babies for 24 hours a day. Hard work again! Next I spend three days at our cottage doing nothing. And the end of holiday I "enjoyed" repairing the roof of the cottage. Jan Dzúr My Summer Holiday 99 During holiday I wanted to earn some money. First five weeks I spent much of my time in a part-time job. When I wasn't at work I read some books or did some sports. The week after I finished my work I was kayaking. The last two weeks I was in England, sightseeing and trying to speak English. Jan ScharffScharff MY HOLIDAY The first fortnight I spent in Slovakia, exactly in the High Tatras.Every second day we had to get up early, because we went on very hard hikes. We had to make about 25 km every hike, but it was the minimum we could do for that beatiful sight. The High Tatras are very popular for the beautiful mountain scenery. Next four weeks I spent in Prague.I was going with my friends to the cinema, to the parties and sometimes we went swimming to the outdoor swimming pool. These days weren't so funny as the last three weeks when I was at a summer holiday camp at Orlik.Orlik is a big dam basin. The camp is in one inlet of this basin. This camp is specialized in canoying. All children (about 80) were divided into small divisions and every division had its own adult chief and a younger assistant.During the day we played some games with children or went somewhere on canoes. In the evenings there were camp fires, discoes or films for children.I have very good friends there and I like their company very much.I have been to this camp eight times and I think it's the best way of spending the holiday. Jan Snízek Summer holiday ˘99 I stayed all my summer holiday in the countryside with my friends who keep horses. Here I attended a riding club. I spent a lot of time riding in the woods on my favourite mare, which is called Julka. We also participated in several endurance races: We were the second on the 60-kilometre track. We also often went floating horses on sultry days. Zuzana Málková My summer holiday '99 From the beginning of July to 13th August I was at our cottage with my two brothers ( Peter and Lucas ) and my grandmother and grandfather. Our cottage is in the Orlicke Mountains. As every year also this year we were repairing the local brookbed. Almost every day we were playing football and we were cycling. One cycling trip was 80 kilometres long. On 13th August we returned to Prague where we spent one week with our mother. From 21st August to 28th August I was together with my brother at the Christian Camp Janov. It was incredibly wonderful. The program was absolutely perfect. We were playing very many plays there. On 28th August we had to return to Prague because the school started again (1st September). Pavel Tucek Summer holidays At the begining of my summer holidays I was at home . Almost every day I was riding a bike and going for trips . I played football with my friends and I went swimming to a quarry near my house. Later in the middle of July I went to the old military zone near the town Mladá Boleslav. I also worked in the garden . At the begining of August I sailed the river Berounka with my friends . We started at the camp Raeice . It`s a few kilometres from Křivoklád castle down the stream . From Račice we sailed to Nižbor . There are the well-known glassworks A.Rűckl and sons . Occasionally some of us capsized . In the town Beroun I had an accident . I and my friend Petr got into a canal . There was a very strong stream . And we were knocked down with a branch and went down to the bottom . We pulled out the canoe from water only 100 metres down the river . We got on the canoe and went on our journey . After that we went past the Karlštejn Castle . The end of our sail was in Dob řichovice near Prague. . At the end of the August I started my football training and enjoyed last days of my summer holidays very much . Michal Vlasák My holiday I spent my holidays at various places. First week I spent at our cottage in Northern Bohemia with my mother and sister. I was very lazy during this week, I was making kits of planes, eating, sleeping and watching TV. Second week we,our family, were in Slovakia with our relations. I was swimming all day and in the evening I was so tired. Once we made a celebration here, because mother's cousin was fifty. Then I had a part-time job at my father's work. I spent about 20 days here. I was weighing tractors with rape and corn. I was working as a secretary, too. On 6th August we had a harvest festival, lot of food, drink and fun. Then I was on cottage again, but now with my mother, grandma and sister. I was here only 5 days. Next week I spent in Prague. I met my classmates in the cinema. We saw the movie "Mummy". Then I was on holiday with my family at our relations in Tabor and in Chysky near Milevsko, where my fathers´ uncle has worked as doctor for 40 years. Next day we were in Pilsen to visit our uncle and cousin. On 26th August Iwas at school. Some of my classmates re-sat examination and I wanted to know how succesful they were. Success was 100%. Then I was at our cottage with my family, we were picking plums, pears etc. And then the school began. Pavel Vodicka Summer Holiday I started this holiday by the athletic match at the Championship of Men in Athletics in Ostrava City. It was a very bestial start of the holiday. I won the3rd place in 200 meters men. I covered 200 meters in 21.72 seconds against a strong wind. Next weekend I was at the same championship, but in my category - juniors.
I was the first there with the similar time as at the men´s competition. Next two weeks I had to train more than usually and I also took some contests. At weekends I went to our cottage near river Sázava in the Czech Highlands. I worked there very hard with a pick. At the end of July I left Prague for the Sports Center in the town of Nymburk, where I was preparing with other Czech representatives for the European Junior Championships in Athletics - RIGA 99 in capitol of Latvia. I went to the pub named "Na Žofíně", three kilometers away of the center. I used to go there with my sport fellows.Beer costs the great eight crowns - the bestial. Next seven days were very tiring and on Saturday that week I went by plane to Riga. I stayed there for a week. Three days I had an easy training at the Daugava Stadium, which was about five kilometers from the hotel (26 floors - every day). From the hotel to the stadium I went by bus and vice versa too. The opening ceremony was one of the best things. Next two days there were semifinals and qualifications in each event. I ran semifinals on Friday 6thAugust and it wasn't good enough to pass to the finals. I was the fourteenth of all with time 21.80 sec. That's a pity. Riga is a historic city on the shore of the Baltic Sea. New Riga has a big harbor. There are newer buildings from the 50's. Latvia's currency has a high rate of exchange E.G. 1 Latvija LATI = 63 Czech Crowns (2$). After my comeback to Prague I traveled with my dad to a village near Budějovice to of our friend's cottage. We were there for a week. One day we went riding a bike, another day canoeing, The next training is at Kolín - a town in the Czech Rep. Hopefully, beer is better there and more pubs, too. That's all folks!Jirka Vojtík |
