Forty students (all from the third year) answered this questions. Our order is different from yours:

1.(39 responses) Holidays, first day of the long vacation (July and August), last day of the school year (30th June) etc. in this sense. Whenever we get rid of school. See the enclosure " Summer Holidays ´99"

2.(19 responses) Birthday, my own birthday, especially my 18th birthday, my friends´ birthdays, birthdays in my family. Birthday parties. In our country we become major on our 18th birthday. Some consqeuences of this fact are pleasant, some are less pleasant. We can vote and get a driving licence (for a car), we are allowed to buy a drink in the pub and to borrow a cassette for adults in the video library. We can also get married without the permission of the court. But from this moment we are also fully responsible before the law.

3.(17 responses) Christmas, particularly Christmas Eve. Advent. See the enclosure "Xmas in Czechia"

4.(15 responses) Weekends and other free days.

5.(13 responses) New Year´s Eve, New Year´s Day, notably the infamous New Year 2000, which means nothing but the end of the old millenium. We must wait one more year to welcome a new millenium.

Single responses: Fridays, every day without my sister, every day without my parents, every day with my family and friends, first snow, stay in the countryside, when there is a new film in the cinema, St.Wenceslas Fair (in September), beer festivals at our cottage, invitation to an interesting athletic competetion, when I paint and listen to music, shopping in the centre of Prague, when I buy some new components for my beloved PC, 30th April (old pagant feast), 21st June (midsummer), 17th November (Students´ Day), musical festivals "Prague Spring" and "Prague Autumn", Mini Cooper owners´ meeting, school trips (usually in June), all parties, start of the hunting season, football training camps, first day at school after holidays (1st September) !!! - You liar !
